Urban Climate: Experiencing Stress and Relief
Germany’s Pavilion directly confronts the psychological and physical realities of climate change in cities. Visitors move through two contrasting spaces: Stress, which simulates the pressures of rising urban heat, and De-Stress, which offers strategies for resilience and adaptation.
On the pavilion’s roof, Christoph Brech’s installation of windsocks stirs with the breeze, a poetic visualization of climate’s unpredictability and interconnectedness. The building itself embodies sustainable practice, powered by solar panels and designed for material reuse. The result is a holistic demonstration of both the urgency of climate realities and the hope found in sustainable architectural responses.
